Axial Flow Pump Described An axial flow pump consists of a revolving impeller and
stationary diffuser vanes. Water enters the pump through the
intake bell. Flow straightening vanes in the diffuser section
prevent whirling inside the bowl, therefore the flow is essentially
in a straight line parallel to the axis... thus the name: axial flow
pumps. This straight flow characteristic holds water friction to a
minimum, resulting in the most efficient means yet devised for
high volume pumping.
Versatility Hydraflo pumps can be installed at any angle (i.e., vertical,
horizontal, or at any angle in between) by simply changing the
orientation of the intake bell. Hydraflo pumps can pump in
reverse for two-way operation as required. For higher head
applications, two Hydraflos can be staged together by bolting
one on top of the other. In addition, the Hydraflo is versatile
and convenient to use. For limited space applications, one prime
mover can be used to drive several water pumps.
Slash Instalation Time The Hydraflo pump does not require any critical alignment.
They can be installed within a fraction of time of conventional
line shaft pumps.
Designed Longer Life Our propeller blades are manufactured from ASTM A316 corrosion/abrasion resistant stainless steel material operating
within a stainless steel liner. Any parts subject to wear (i.e., the
propeller, propeller liner and bearings) are designed to be
changed quickly and efficiently in the field with conventional
hand tools.
Less Submergence Required Because Hydraflo pumps are designed with standard large intake
passages and low speeds, they can be installed and operated
continuously at minimal submergences - from one half to one third
of conventional pumps.
Requires Less Maintenance and Cost Less to Operate The Hydraflo does not require special lubrication. It is hydraulically
driven through a short internal shaft that is permanently lubricated.
Bearings are directly connected to a hydraulic motor and completely
sealed to operate maintenance-free underwater. There are no
priming problems and no need to worry about the pump running
dry... Hydraflo pumps are designed to run dry without damage to
their component. There are no belts to align, tighen or replace and
no gear boxes or open shafts with the Hydraflo.
