Water is pumped out to the Metairie Outfall Canal as repairs continue Tuesday along the levee, which broke during Hurricane Katrina along the city border of Metairie and New Orleans. A week after Hurricane Katrina swept through, engineers plugged the levee break that had swamped much of the city, and floodwaters began to recede.
