A worker watches the water flow out of a 30-inch pipe in Metairie, La., following the repair of a flood wall damaged last month by Hurricane Katrina. The pipe is made by MWI Corp., a nearly 80-year-old Deerfield company that produced eight 42-inch and four 30-inch Hydraflo pumps being used to help dry out the New Orleans area.
